Biography

Ollie joined the School of Law and Criminology in 2018. He is a graduate of Durham University (PhD 2012-16, MJur 2011-12, LLB 2008-11).

Ollie’s research focusses on public health governance, and he is particularly interested in EU health law and policy, alcohol policy, the right to health, and the ethics of public health law.

Ollie’s work draws together legal, political, scientific and ethical knowledge to assess the role of law in addressing contemporary public health issues, and he often collaborates with researchers outside the legal discipline.

Ollie works regularly with the World Health Organization and various NGOs on alcohol policy issues, and has authored or co-authored various reports in this field.

Ollie is a Case Commentary Co-Editor for the European Journal of Risk Regulation.

Ollie is the Director of Postgraduate Studies for the School of Law and Criminology.
