LLB student Anna Barnes participates in #Vote4OurRuleOfLaw Fellowship – Berlin Bootcamp
Anna got the opportunity to research Irish youth voters’ motivations and barriers, while also getting to meet the other 42 fellows and participate in an intensive bootcamp in Berlin.

Pathways to the Legal Profession – Summer Internship opportunity
The School of Law and Criminology and the Maynooth Access Programme are delighted to announce that the Pathways to the Legal Profession Summer Internship Programme 2024 is now open for applications! This summer internship programme is supported by Matheson Law Firm, and the Association of Criminal Justice Research Development (ACJRD). The programme will support two MAP students to access paid summer internships in the legal profession.

ERC DANCING hosts world premiere of ‘Lived Fiction’ in Dublin
The piece was commissioned and specifically created for DANCING and forms integral part of the arts-based research embedded in the project which employs empirical, arts-based and legal-doctrinal research methods to uncover how EU law protects and promotes the right to culture of persons with disabilities.

On the 12th April, Orla Kelleher, School of Law and Criminology Maynooth University and Andrew Jackson UCD, published an article in RTE Brainstorm entitled, ‘What does the latest European climate judgment mean for Ireland?’

Call for Papers Maynooth University Workshop on Internal Displacement Law and Policy
In June 2022, the UN Secretary-General’s Action Agenda on Internal Displacement called for states to develop and implement ‘relevant laws and policy frameworks’ to address the rights of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Maynooth University responds to this call by hosting its second workshop on IDP law and policy on 19 and 20 September 2024.

Entitled A Restorative Approach to Supporting Students, the policy outlines what a restorative approach means in the School and the training that staff may obtain to help implement this, as well as providing for a new academic service role of Restorative Practices Officer in the School

Prof Michael Doherty recently joins panel on the Adequate Minimum Wage Directive
