	Overview
	This is a beginning graduate-level course in Algebraic Number Theory. Topics include: (some) algebraic background, algebraic numbers, quadratic and cyclotomic fields, factorization into irreducibles, ideals, lattices and Minkowski's theorem, ideal class group and class number, Dirichlet's unit theorem

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: State some classical theorems in Algebraic Number Theory. Prove any of the theorems given in the course. Deduce properties which follow from these theorems. Prove other number theoretic results using rigorous arguments.
