	Overview
	The course focuses on international financial markets. The first part of that course concentrates on international bond markets with an emphasis on bond valuation, bond’s price volatility and bond returns. The second part looks at the organization of financial markets. The different types of orders submitted in these markets and the different mechanisms used to execute them are studied. A careful analysis of the Bid-Ask spread is done, as it is a necessary step to understand the functioning of markets.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Discuss the pros and cons of the different market structures. Contrast the relationship of the different types of orders with respect to liquidity. Compute the price of a bond and the bond’s price volatility using different measures. Critically assess the different measures used to compute the bond’s price volatility. Derive the returns from investing in bonds. Construct the term structure of interest.

	Repeat options
	Two hours written examination. Continuous assessment mark will be carried forward. University scheduled written examination (Autumn): 120 minutes

	Pre-Requisites
	FN205 and FN206 or equivalent.
