This module will introduce students to various aspects of literary production and criticism in a way that is integrated with the development of research and writing skills at degree level. Students will concentrate on one literary text, examining a variety of ways of understanding it while using new research methods to gain a knowledge of both the text and the skills which they will need to write essay. Such skills will include essay writing, organization and planning; the use of electronic databases; ways to read and make use of secondary criticism; and the development of strong theses and arguments.
