Projects
| Project Title: |
Spatial modelling with GWR |
| Supervisor: |
Prof. A. Stewart Fotheringham |
| Project Abstract: |
My research will principally involve researching Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) for spatial modelling. The GWR result space may be treated as a highly-dimensional spatial dataset to identify the multivariate spatial and non-spatial patterns, relationships and other structures. But being a comparatively new model, further research is required for the better implementation of GWR and exploration of its potential in different aspects of GIS. My research will focus on implementing GWR in the analysis of voting behaviour using Irish voter turnout data.
This is project is funded (2008-2011) by the Irish Social Sciences Platform.
