"Research for the Region: Planning Environments, Building Knowledge Societies, and Sustaining Communities"
Celebrating ten years of PRTLI funding by the HEA
Venue: 9.30 am - 4.15 p m, December 3rd 2008, Renehan Hall, South Campus, NUI Maynooth.
This is a one-day conference to celebrate 10 years of PRTLI funding by the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The conference will showcase NIRSA research amd explore how social science research serves society and economy. This includes detailing projects that have been conducted with and for local authorities, semi-state agencies, local businesses, voluntary and community groups.
The conference format will consist of three 1.5 hr sessions and posters. Each session will have four 20 minute papers followed by a discussion.
Each session will focus on one of the three NIRSA groups (Planning Environments, Building Knowlege Societies and Sustaining Communities), its cutting edge research, how it works with different agencies and might do additional work.
