16th Annual MOPAN Conference
June 17th - 20th 2009 NUI Maynooth

Call for Papers
We invite contributions on inter-organisational collaboration in different sectors and in its different forms, including co-management of natural resources, high-tech and business alliances, health care partnerships, urban planning and development, international cooperation, cross-disciplinary collaboration and business & society alliances. We also invite contributions from a range of different theoretical perspectives, including: dealing with dilemmas, paradoxes and differences, the construction of meaning for joint action, social learning, leadership, facilitation and the role of the convenor, and framing and reframing.
Papers are welcome from all - academics, students and those in policy and practice.
We hope for contributions in a variety of modes that represent in different ways the variety of ideas, experiences and methodologies. These may take the form of presentations, papers, talks, videos, lectures, debates, roundtables, films, games, dramatic representations, metaphors, artworks, contests, exhibitions or any other modes that might intrigue, engage and provoke the imagination of others.
All abstracts will be subjected to peer review. They will be evaluated as to their quality and topic applicability. We will try to accommodate all proposals as they are submitted; however, the Conference Program Committee will make the final decision about acceptance of, and presentation format for, individual submissions. The convenors reserve the right to enter discussion with you to ensure that your submission best fits the theme of the conference.
Please note that selected papers on industry and inter-firm collaboration will be considered for publication in a Special Issue of International Journal of Strategic Business Alliances (IJSBA). Selected papers may also be included in an edited publication of the proceedings. Details about this publication will be provided at the Conference.
Closing Date for Abstracts
Abstracts of proposed papers, posters and other media (500 words maximum) are due by Friday 13th March 2009 and should clearly indicate the content of the final paper / poster / other. (See registration dates & charges). Please note the deadline for early registration was 27th March 2009 and has now been extended to Friday 3rd April 2009.
