Postgraduate Colloquium

Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, Thursday 15 March 2007

The Postgraduate Colloquium of the Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy will take place on Thursday, March 15th. Forty different short papers will be presented by students from departments across the faculty, on topics including Yiddish in the Gap – Unexpected Translation Problems

  • ‘Autobiography as criticism in the works of Theodor Adorno and George Orwell’ and
  • ‘Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet: A Schleiermacherian Reading’.

The papers on Music will be delivered in the Council Room, South Campus, the remainder in the John Hume Building, North Campus. There will also be lectures by distinguished guest speakers, including Professor Clair Wills, author of the just-published “That Neutral Island.”

Departments represented are:

  • German

  • Ancient Classics
  • English
  • History and
  • Philosophy.

All are welcome to attend.
