Pneumatic is defined as "operated by, or relying on, air pressure or the force of compressed air" (Chambers 1988,688). This is a definition which would embrace barometers, but these have been included, in this Catalogue, under Meteorology (pages 227-229), since their principal use is in the prediction of weather. In this Section are listed mainly pumps and accessories, with apparatus to show some of the properties of a vacuum, together with an instrument to demonstrate vapour pressure.
