Electricity & Magnetism

The importance of the collection of instruments in the areas of Electricity and Magnetism has already been stressed in the Introduction (pages 12-14), for these sections include most of the preserved apparatus relating to Nicholas Callan, and to Gerald Molloy. The collection also includes many Irish made instruments, especially by the Dublin firm of Yeates, together with other instruments commonly found in nineteenth century teaching collections.
Note: electric lamps are listed under
"Light" .

The following pages contain pictures and details of the electricity and magnetism instruments contained in the museum. Not all instruments are on display but viewing can be arranged by contacting the curator, Dr. Niall McKeith.
