Attention International students!
Would you like to use your year abroad to gain a Diploma in Irish Studies?
The Certificate in Irish Studies is a dynamic and interdisciplinary programme over one or two semesters which introduces students to the indigenous Irish cultural tradition over two millenia. A large number of academic departments from the Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy and the Faculty of Social Sciences are involved in the delivery of the programme, which is coordinated by An Foras Feasa: the Institute for Research in Irish Historical and Cultural Traditions. A rich dimension of the programme is the opportunity to take 10 credits in the Irish lanugage in a course provided by NUI Maynooth Language Centre.
The programme involves 35 credits of obligatory, core modules taken over the course of the year, plus an additional 15 credits, chosen from among a great many different disciplines, all with their focus on Irish studies. The list of core and optional modules for the year 2010-2011 can be found here.
