Formation of Classes

Commencement of classes will depend on a minimum number of enrolments. The Language Centre reserves the right to cancel a course.
A Certificate of Attendance is awarded on request to students with 80% minimum attendance.

Extra-Mural Terms

Each course lasts for eighteen weeks, with two hours' tuition each week. (Please note that the TEG Meánleibhéal 2 course has 3 hours' tuition per week). Course dates for this year are:

• Monday, 26th September 2011 to Thursday, 27th October 2011
• Monday, 7th November 2011 to Thursday, 15th December 2011
• Monday, 30th  January 2012 to Thursday, 15th March 2012
• Monday,26th March 2012 to Thursday, 5th April 2012

No class will be held on public or University holidays. In the event of a class being missed for this reason, an extra class will be added on at the end of the extra-mural term.

 

Course Fees

• €300 Wage earners from outside the University
• €150 University staff and registered students of the University
• €140 Social Welfare recipients (with proof of situation)
• €500 Gaeilge Meánleibhéal 2
  

• Cheques should be made payable to The Language Centre, NUI Maynooth.
• Course fees must be paid in full on enrolment; admission to classes is subject to this.
  Receipts should be retained.
• Fees will be refunded should a class not take place due to insufficient numbers.
  The closing date for refund applications is:   Friday, 7th October 2011

** Tá aitheantas oifigiúil faighte ag Ionad na dTeangacha ón Roinn Oideachais agus Scileanna do Leibhéal B2 Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG). Ciallaíonn sé seo go sásaíonn Leibhéal B2 na critéir iontrála do chúrsaí fochéime agus iarchéime san Oideachas sna coláistí oideachais. Beidh cúrsa B2 á reáchtáil ag Ionad na dTeangacha ar feadh 18 seachtain ó mhí Dheireadh Fómhair go mí an Aibreáin. Beidh rang amháin ar siúl gach seachtain ar feadh 3 huaire an chloig.  Ar an 21 Aibreán 2012 a bheidh scrúdú B2 ar siúl.

Costas an scrúdaithe: €150

The Language Centre has recently received recognition from the Department of Education and Skills for TEG Level B2.  This qualification now satisfies the entry requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in education in the Irish Colleges of Education. The Language Centre will run an 18 week course from October to April to prepare students for this exam.  The course will consist of one three hour class per week and the B2 exam will take place on 21 April 2012.
