Welcome

The Language Centre offers courses in a range of modern languages to students (both undergraduate and postgraduate), staff and members of the public.

We have also developed a variety of services and courses for distance and autonomous learners. These include:

• Vifax - weekly online exercises to accompany TG4 news bulletins
• Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (teg) - an examination system for adult learners of Irish that is linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
• Dioplóma Iarchéime san Aistriúchán agus Eagarthóireacht – a two-year part-time course in translation and editing skills
  

Other services include:

• Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge - a two-year part-time course covering general fluency, literature and culture
• Teastas i Múineadh na Gaeilge d'Aosaigh – a teaching qualification
  

Located in the Arts Building on the North Campus, our facilities include :

• dedicated classrooms
• 3 digital language laboratories
• a self-access language learning area with PCs, AV resources and satellite TV

The Language Centre has won the European Language Label three times.
