Maynooth University Department of History

The Department of History extends its warmest congratulations to Dr Ian Speller, of this Department, whose latest work, Europe, Small Navies and Maritime Security: Balancing Traditional Roles and Emergent Threats in the 21st Century (London: Routledge, 2019) is being launched next month in London. The book, co-edited with Robert McCabe and Deborah Sanders, is based on the proceedings of an international conference organised by the Centre for Military History and Strategic Studies at Maynooth University and King’s College London and held at King’s in January 2018. Dr Robert McCabe, one of the other co-editors, completed his PhD in this Department in 2015.
