Research Interests
My research falls under the large umbrella of Bio-Inorganic Chemistry. It is at the interface of Chemistry & Biology.
I am specifically interested in metal based complexes as targeted anti - cancer and anti - microbial therapeutics.
In particular i am interested in:
1) Photoactive Pt(IV) complexes as potential chemotherapy drugs.
2) Targeted Cu(II) small molecule drugs which interact with DNA & RNA.
3) Targeted Cu(II) complexes with anti microbial and anti- cancer properties .
4) Pt(II) anti - cancer complexes which are activated in the cell via bioorthogonal pathways.
