Some session leaders will set specific tasks to be undertaken prior to their sessions. Sessions will be organised in ways which aim to help students develop their understanding of issues through the active examination of relevant ideas, arguments and experiences. All course members will be required to contribute to and learn from the focused discussions and activities.

Students will undertake a critical comparison of two published Mathematics Education papers on a similar theme but with different methodologies. They will compare and contrast the two papers against their significance, the approaches to data collection and analysis, the quality of their arguments, and their likely impact on the teaching and learning of Mathematics.
