Module Objective:
To introduce the students to Differential Calculus.

Overview: Why study calculus?
Review of sets and functions. Real Numbers. Inequalities. Real-valued functions of real variable. Limits and continuity. The Derivative. Tangents. Product rule, chain rule, quotient rule. The Mean Value theorem. The Newton-Raphson method for roots. Higher derivatives. Taylor''s Theorem.
Inverse functions. Applications of the derivative. Linearisation and Differentials.
