• Recognise a wide range of complex tenses and some advanced grammatical structures and employ them to produce meaningful and correct German sentences.
• Converse in German with a good degree of fluency and spontaneity about social, political and cultural topics.
• Summarise and interpret the meaning of more complex audio texts on concrete and abstract themes.
• Explain in German a viewpoint on a topical issue, giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Continuous Assessment (one test): 10%; Viva Voce Oral Exam: 30%.

• One-and-a-half-hour written examination and Viva Voce Oral. Continuous Assessment mark is carried forward to the autumn.
