Local History at NUI MaynoothWelcome |
 The
Department of Modern History at NUI Maynooth has a long-standing commitment
to teaching, research and publication in the field of local history. We
offer courses in local
history from pre-degree through to postgraduate level, on campus
(in Maynooth and Kilkenny) and off-campus at centres throughout the country,
north and south. Maynooth staff are committed to supporting research and
education at the local society level, and are currently engaged in producing
the first ever all-Ireland directory of local history societies. We also
organise an annual local history training and conference day, and
contribute to many local history events north and south.
