Angela Rickard is a lecturer in Education and contributes to the PGDE and the MEdGC and supervises theses on other Masters Programmes.
She is the Programme Director in the Republic of Ireland of Dissolving Boundaries - a programme funded by the Department of Education and Science involving nearly 200 primary, post-primary and special schools in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Dissolving Boundaries uses Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to facilitate cross-cultural educational linkages between schools in the North and South of Ireland and has been in existence since 1999. www.dissolvingboundaries.org

Research interests
- Using digital video for student teacher reflection, collaboration and creativity
- Online collaboration among teachers and school pupils, in particular the development of cultural awareness through online collaboration and video-conferencing
- Resource creation, use and evaluation in the context of developing student teachers’ information literacy skills
- In-service teacher education in technology for language teaching
